Showerbuddy Shower Chairs – About Us

Showerbuddy is dedicated to easing the day-to-day issues associated with showering for physically disabled or elderly citizens.

Showerbuddy was established in New Zealand in 2003 after a young designer observed the difficulty his grandfather, Mr Florence, was having with showering after he had a bad fall from loss of balance as a result of a stroke. His family found, to their horror:

That there was no satisfactory shower bench system available to transfer Mr Florence from his bed to bathroom.

Designing safe sliding transfer benches started immediately thereafter with ongoing development of new commode shower chairs and a bath chair system now well recognised by users around the world.

Showerbuddy now helps disabled vets, clients with muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, parkinsons disease and many other mobility issues to shower with dignity, ease and comfort every day.
