Showerbuddy Shower Chair SB1 – Case Study
Gavin has found that the Showerbuddy Shower chair has transformed his showering experience from a stressful and potentially hazardous chore to a safe an pleasurable one.
See Below How Gavin Used to Shower
Take a look at Gavin’s shower stall. The shower step is high and Gavin is confined to a wheelchair after suffering from a diving accident in Australia in 2005. Gavin could not access his shower without major modifications to the rest room.
Here’s what his caregivers came up with to solve the problem…
The caregiver made a plywood base unit to sit inside the shower stall to bring the bottom of the stall up to the top of the step level! Then he made another platform that sat outside the stall to allow the aluminum ramps to attach to this…
Sure this solved the immediate problem of getting Gavin into the shower but it is also dangerous because Gavin can roll right off the edge, plus it creates a real mess when Gavin is showering. Water flows off the platform and right on out into the rest room making it very slippery and dangerous for the caregiver too.
